Great spot when you have a hankering for some Chinese food. The place is very unassuming but don’t let that fool you - the food is delicious!
The variety is mind boggling but so far everything we’ve tried has been great.
8/5/23 its 8pm and this restaurant is closed. Hours are incorrect.
4/23 dinner with the GF.
We had the Beef Chow fun, it was good, a little oily. PSD's still great!
3/18/22 meal break! Pork soup dumplings & cold noodles. Still really good! And now Grade = A.
12/10/21 FYI: soup dumplings now 6 pieces (not 8). But still very good.
Cold noodles still good too
10/11/21 still good.
7/20/21 love this place. Soup dumplings still great! Prices have gone up a bit, but still reasonable.
11/26/18 still a great place!
5 stars for consistency.
Great spot! Love the pork soup dumplings!!
So many good and interesting dishes to try.
House red wine is good and inexpensive, beer also is inexpensive. Service is fast and usually very friendly. Been there 50+ times. Guess that makes me a regular :)
This restaurant has been around for a long time but we haven’t been here for years. Everything stays similar, average service and delicious food. Definitely recommend the eggplants with garlic sauce. Ma Po tofu wasn’t bad either.
I’ll start by saying the food was decently served with reasonable portion sizes and will definitely satisfy a craving if your in the mood for Chinese. However, for the price your paying I recommend ordering out! The dine in experience is less than mediocre especially if your looking for a modern and CLEAN sanitary environment. Place looks as if it’s never been renovated. This makes me question the sanitary conditions of the kitchen 🤔. I won’t be going back but as always the choice is yours.
By far, hands down, THE best Sichuan joint in NYC and I have done the legwork! For the price, you get incredible quality. While I’m no fan of soup dumplings, plenty of my friends are and when I bring them here, they are all equally addicted and blown away by the dishes.
I have been coming here for years and the staff is always kind and welcoming. I see some comments about the staff being rude but I have never had a bad experience here. The staff are usually harried and busy because service here is quick and usually family styled and they don’t have time to stand and chat if they are handling another 10 tables who equally expect their dishes to be served hot.
The owners and waitresses have always been helpful and will give you the choice to make dishes without the standard spice levels and even cooking dishes without ginger or garlic should you request it. They definitely go above and beyond.
Order the Kung Po, cold cucumber salad, sliced fish and pepper steak, but you won’t be disappointed in the others on their vast menu.
If you want to skip the crowd (because come 8pm you’ll have to wait a while for a table, come around 7pm and you won’t have an issue landing a spot.
In addition, I have had things delivered when they have the delivery man on staff and it’s always arrived fresh.
Soup Dumplings here are a must! The crab and pork dumplings are so juicy and flavorful! Also their crispy quail is very flavorful and tender! I only wish they had a sweet chili sauce for it, as it only comes with white rice which can kind of be a dry combo. Good customer service and even a restroom which is rare in restaurants nowadays.
We had a really good time at Grand Sichuan restaurant. We went here for dinner on Sunday and the place was a bit busy but had a couple of tables available. We were seated right away to one of the tables. They have a huge menu and it is hard to pick something but luckily I had a friend with me who had been here before.
We ordered the hot and sour closeup which was nice. The Dan Dan noodles were just brilliant. I could not stop myself once I took my first bite. The pork dumplings were really nice too. We got a Sichuan style chicken dish which was good too. I don’t remember the name of the tofu dish but the tofu is so soft, it just melts in your mouth. Try a tofu dish here, you wont regret it.
The food is inexpensive and really nice and flavorful . Do check the spice level since some of the dishes are spicy but tasty.
Will definitely visit again.
The Dan dan noodles are amazing. A bit spicy and great taste. After that, the food was too good I forgot to take images. We had soup dumplings, Yang chow fried rice is always a hit paired with Azou chicken. This place is a Chelsea staple and a must try.
